I think that I gain a certain amount of satisfaction from making lots of things that look very similar.
I’ve just finnished a batch of decorations and am making a start on another. I’ve heard that Testspace in Leeds are thinking of having Christmas craft stalls on Thursdays and weekends during the run up to Christmas, so I think I’m probably going to go into over drive making these within the next couple of weeks! Woo
I felt that the snow flake looked better with silver thread attaching the buttons, so I’ve done that instead
(Any excuse for squid.)
I’ve e-mailed these off to Testspace people tonight; hope some one wants to use them
I’m trying my hardest to create less cartoon illustrations but at the moment when it comes to drawing people (and mermpeople) I am finding this impossible. I think I need to go do some life drawing again and work on human faces to give everything a more lifelike and less babyish aesthetic.

Heres and example of one of the mock up puppets artist and designer Tony Wade has created for year 5 students to start building next week. The head was made by children in previous workshops.
Yesterday I was helping out at Project Space Leeds with their Forties Summer Fete. It was a vintage affair with lots of nice retro clothing stalls, antiques, cake, cream tea and home made gifts
Eleanor Snare and I lead a sewing workshop; we made a variety of fabric animals and monsters with visitors who only had to pay a pound to participate. We were very impressed with one girl’s multi coloured cat which she created completely from scratch with very little instruction from either of us! Eleanor also made a dress by re-styling a striped t-shirt with some blue fabric, and a floral bag – photos to follow!
