Handmade Christmas Fair This Sunday!

Hello! I’ve been making these Christmas tree stars to sell at Handmade at the Brudenell Social Club, Leeds this Sunday! They have a felt strap at the back so can easily be fitted over the top spike of a Christmas tree.

It open’s at 1 pm until 4 pm, so that’s plenty of Christmas shopping time

Here’s the Blurrbb:

This week I’ve been making foxes and dragons to sell over the christmas period for hopefully about £20 each

I am also planning to sew some fabric creatures based on Indonesian Wayang Kulit shadow puppets with perhaps some North American influences in the decoration.

I might be a little pressed for time to get these ready for Homemade at the Brudenell Social Club on the 5th of December but I will have some ready for the craft fair the week after in Holbeck Underground Ballroom.

Last Saturday I managed to get to my friend Andrew’s performance art festival in Stoke Newington, London.

In short, it was brilliant and should happen again – I really enjoyed the interactivity and atmopshere/feelings provoked by a lot of the performances, and their conclusions of awkwardness, heartfelt sincerity and a lot of questioning of personal space and privacy.  Especially liked the work of Kimbal Bumstead who performed his piece ‘Touch Tent’ and Claire Blundell-Jones who was ‘spooning’ or being ‘spooned’ by participants for several hours. Enjoyed a full five minutes of staring into the eyes of a complete stranger and the poems of a good friend R. Makin, who we can also thank for finding an excellent pizza restaurant when it was most needed.

Jurassic craft

I’ve had a thought today – a couple of years ago I was commissioned to make this fleece dinosaur as a present for some one’s girlfriend; I believe I was paid with chocolate and wine which was a nice exchange!

Anyway, I was thinking of making some dinosaur kits, with templates and fabric. I could also make anteater kits.

Something to think about …

Christmas Fayre!

I will be selling work on the 11th of December in Holbeck Underground Ballroom (The HUB) as part of Slung Low’s Christmas Fayre! The words ‘HOG ROAST’ and ‘HOT SPICED WINE’ fill me with optimism; this event is going to warm the hell out of some cockles.

I also should be selling wares at Homemade on the 5th of December at (as far as I know so far) The Brudenell Social Club, see you there.

Off out tonight for openings at Umbrella Studios and East Street Arts. I will probably freeze to some art.
